Alliance Architects recently completed an innovative office redesign and expansion for United Protective Services in Dallas, Texas. The intent was to create a space that reflects the firm’s commitment to professionalism, reliability, and expertise in the security services sector.
The revamped office interiors feature a modern layout blend of private workspaces and collaborative areas, catering to various functions from client meetings to day-to-day operations. Our goal was to create an environment that accommodated United Protective Services’ growth while projecting a polished image to potential clients and inspiring productivity among employees.
A key challenge in this corporate finish-out was the existing conditions. The existing building had low ceilings and inadequate lighting which created a cramped and dim environment. The client wanted an office space with an open feel, lots of natural lighting, and private offices with acoustical separation. This renovation presented a significant design challenge to our interiors team.
To open up the space more, the interiors team used an exposed ceiling in the hallways to gain more height. Painting the ceilings a lighter gray also gave the hallways a taller appearance. We were also able to maximize the natural light in the space for the client, by adding exterior windows to the existing façade and designing offices with all glass fronts. This new bright inviting atmosphere enhances both employee well-being and the overall aesthetic of the space.

Our approach emphasized functional design elements to enhance the everyday employee experience. An elevated conference room, featuring a sophisticated wood slat ceiling and subtle recessed lighting that bathes the space in a warm glow. Luxurious furnishings complete this refined setting, perfect for impressing clients and inspiring productive meetings.
Adjacent to this, we’ve incorporated a versatile training room enclosed by full glass walls. This transparent design maintains an open feel while providing a dedicated space for learning and collaboration. Just outside the conference area, a welcoming communal seating space serves dual purposes – offering employees a tranquil spot for relaxation and providing a comfortable lounge for visitors.
The space features large private offices with custom desk furniture and storage solutions that accommodate their needs. The color palette serves as a neutral backdrop that creates a calm atmosphere and serves as a blank canvas. By focusing on textural elements, varied light levels, and natural tones, this will allow for future artistic additions that will infuse the space with vibrant splashes of color, continually refreshing the environment and inspiring creativity.
